Occupational Health & Safety

Dominion considers the health and safety of all those involved with the Company to be of the utmost importance, with the implementation of appropriate health and safety procedures and training programs overseen by an Occupational Health & Safety Committee.

This Committee monitors the effectiveness of all HSE procedures at Challenger and has helped Dominion maintain an excellent record in safeguarding the health and safety of all staff and contractors.

More than 306,300 hours were worked at the Challenger operation during 2005/06 with a solid safety performance achieved.

Three lost time injuries occurred, each at surface, with the three personnel involved each returning to work.

During 2005/06, Dominion made 27 referrals to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), which again proved an invaluable service for all personnel at the remote Challenger site.
